Demonstration of automatic dispersion control for 160 Gbit/s transmission over 275 km of deployed fibre

Abstract

The first demonstration of automatic dispersion control suitable for ultra-high-speed 160 Gbit/s transmission over field-deployed fibre is described. Results illustrate the need for adaptive compensation to achieve reliable data transmission at this speed.
