Abstract

The magnetic properties of Ga-added die-upset Nd-Fe-B magnets have been measured between 4.2 and 473 K. The die-upset magnets show a larger stepwise decrease in the demagnetization curve then a sintered magnet below the spin reorientation temperature because of the low alignment of grains in the die-upset magnets. In the temperatures range above room temperature, the high-coercivity Ga-added die-upset magnet has excellent properties compared with the Ga-free die-upset magnet. The addition of Ga increases the pinning force, resulting in the increase of i/sub Hc/.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
