Successive phase transitions - ferro-, ferri-and antiferro-electric smectics

Abstract

Abstract To realize the ferrielectric phase + + - which is attributed to SmC*γ, the third neighbor interaction is introduced to the ANNNI model. General feature of phase diagram of this model is obtained, on the basis of which the successive phase transitions observed in ferro- and antiferro-electric sniectics are discussed.
