Abstract

Abstract Although at the present time no precise agreement between theory and experiment exists for amorphous polymers, as might be expected on the limited understanding of the liquid state, nevertheless certain trends in the thermal conductivity of these materials may be predicted with some confidence. This paper considers the influence of two factors, temperature and polymer density, with a view to providing guidance to engineers concerned with the manipulation and use of amorphous polymers.
