Abstract

Rare organometallic complexes can be stabilized by using an N-confused system as a carbon ligand. A stable organocopper(II) compound of N-confused calix[4]phyrin has been characterized by X-ray crystallography. Complete π conjugation was found not to be a prerequisite for the formation of the metal-carbon bond.
