Sunlight and Man: Normal and Abnormal Photobiologic Responses

Abstract

This volume of contributed papers resulted from an international conference held in Tokyo in December 1972, and finds publication as the proceedings of that meeting. The 55 articles are well organized under some 14 subtitles, and the list of authors reads like the roster of a sort of Olympic games of human photobiology. In terms of organization, content, and quality, this volume surpasses the average symposium publication. If the two year interval between the conference and the publication date reflects editorial labor, as well it may, the readers are the better for it. The articles are primarily review papers, several of which almost reaching monographic proportions, and the book also includes research reports, either laboratory or clinical. Unlike many proceedings, they are nearly all of journal quality. There are a few brief, anecdotal contributions.
