Abstract

We report the successful reduction of background fluorescence in bone tissue by photo-irradiation with green laser light. Irradiation of bone tissue with intense green light has been shown to be nondestructive and to reduce permanently over 70% of the fluorescence background. The laser power dependence of the fluorescence reduction was found to be nonlinear.
