Catalytic Applications of Early/Late Heterobimetallic Complexes

Abstract

Abstract Transition metal complexes that combine electronically different metals are most readily designed by combining an early transition metal and a late transition metal, typically via a bridging ligand framework. These so-called "early/late" heterobimetallic complexes have recently proven active in a number of catalytic transformations that are not accessible with analogous monometallic complexes. This review discusses recent contributions to catalytic and stoichiometric transformations of early/late heterobimetallic complexes.
