Phase Transfer Catalyses: Preparation of Alkyl Cyanldes

Abstract

Abstract Numerous methods of preparation of alkyl cyanides are known. In recent years alkyl cyanides have been prepared by phase transfer catalvtic methods employing tetraalkyl ammonium salts as catalysts. In other phase transfer reactions, particularly dichlorocarhene generation, tertiary amines have been used as efficient catalysts. Makosza has proposed a mechanism for this process.
