Particle-gamma angular correlations following nuclear reactions

Abstract

The general theory of the b-γ angular correlation in the reaction sequence A(a, b)B(γ)C is reviewed with particular attention to the phase conventions being used. Some examples are given of the correlations predicted by direct interaction theory following the excitation of one-and two-phonon-like states in medium weight even nuclei by the inelastic scattering of protons.
