A description of instruments and techniques developed by the author over a period of years, for the quantitative measurement of odor emissions at the source. The system is like those that have been used by others including that of ASTM, in the sense that it rests on quantitative dilution and votes of human subjects on its intensity, but differs in all other details. It is a dynamic method rather than static; emphasizes large volume of sampler and odormeter to avoid losses of odors on the walls; and facilitates the use of as few as two to three subjects.
