Abstract

AbstractAbstractThe role of mechanics in corrosion fatigue is examined briefly in both crack initiation and propagation phases. It is seen that mechanics provides bounds to behaviour within which a wide variety of corrosion-induced effects can occur. Thus mechanics studies can provide a framework for the assessment of corrosion fatigue problems.
