The effects of imposed external stimuli on the pattern retrieval properties of attractor neural networks with highly diluted Hebb synapses are examined. It is shown that at intermediate stimulus strength enhanced retrieval results, even above the storage capacity of the unstimulated network. Sequences of networks can lead to further improvement.
