Abstract For highly efficient and stable white PIN OLED devices using evaporation processable outcoupling layers for efficiency enhancement details on the outcoupling mechanisms could be revealed. It was found that the use of crystallizing outcoupling enhancement layers gives rise to a corrugation of the reflective cathode, which allows for a strong reduction of the plasmon absorption losses. Based on a three‐unit white architecture, an efficiency of 60 lm/W at a brightness of 1,000 cd/m 2 could be achieved at a color of x,y = 0.470/0.429 with a T50 lifetime of 90,000 hours.
