From Achiral Molecular Components to Chiral Supermolecules and Supercoil Self-Assembly

A mesoscopic supercoil was obtained from the self-assembly of a pair of achiral molecular components 1 and 2. The formation of these supercoil structures is rationalized in terms of the combined effects of various intermolecular noncovalent interactions under the conditions employed.
