Measurement of Beta Asymmetry in the Decay of Polarized Neutrons

Abstract

The relative probability of beta emission by the neutron was measured in the directions respectively parallel and antiparallel to their spin. The angular distribution relative to the neutron spin direction is W( theta ) = 1- (0.37 plus or minus 0.11)(v/c) cos theta . (M.H.R.)
