Abstract— A weight function method, recently developed by the authors, is applied to calculate stress intensity factors for corner cracks emanating from a semi‐circular notch under crack face polynomial pressure loading. A wide range of configuration parameters are considered. These results, combined with superposition principle, allow determination of stress intensity factors under general loading conditions. The approach is demonstrated by obtaining stress intensity factors for the load cases of remote tension and shot‐peening residual stresses at the notch.
