Abstract

Abstract Selenium‐containing cross‐linkages are formed when wool which has been reduced with thioglycollic acid is treated with a solution of selenium dioxide. Each selenium atom links two cysteine side‐chains, and it is suggested that tetracysteinyl—selenium cross‐linkages are not obtained because the cystine cross‐linkages of intact wool are too far apart.
