Spherical and anisotropic catalytic microtransporters are realized using spherical and elliptical colloids half-coated with Pt and immersed in an aqueous H2O2 solution. How to control and guide the anisotropc particles using dynamic magnetic modulations is demonstrated. The proposed method, which enables the control of chemically powered micrometerscale particles in fluid media, has potential for applications in microscale transport and lab-on-a-chip technology.
