Pharmacokinetics of dexmedetomidine in postsurgical pediatric intensive care unit patients: Preliminary study*

Abstract

Dexmedetomidine, administered as a continuous infusion, produces consistent, predictable concentrations in children and infants. Further evaluations of the safety, efficacy, and pharmacodynamics of dexmedetomidine are warranted.
