Abstract

Aneurysm of the aortic sinuses (sinuses of Valsalva) is a rare condition. The three accepted causes are congenital malformations, bacterial infections, and syphilis. Two other rare causes have been described, namely cystic medial necrosis of Erdheim and acute rheumatic aortitis
