Abstract

Esophageal stenting, tube thoracostomy drainage, and antibiotics may be a management option for gravely ill patients with human immunodeficiency virus, esophageal perforation, and a delay in diagnosis. An optimal outcome requires a thoughtful, individualized approach and adherence to basic principles.
