Isolation of Cytopathogenic Agents from the Respiratory Tract in Acute Laryngotracheobronchitis

Abstract

Acute laryngotracheobronchitis is a common syndrome in North America, which is often called croup after the most prominent symptom. It is one of the leading causes for admission to the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. Modern methods of treatment have greatly lowered the mortality, which is now negligible, but the aetiology remains obscure. Bacteriological studies have not been
