Abstract A theoretical expression for the equation of state is developed which is based on the mass action law, the Carnahan‐Starling expression for the hard‐sphere contributions and the mean‐spherical approximation for the Coulombic interactions. Numerical calculations of the pressure and the critical data show good agreement with other methods (HNC, MC etc.).
