Abstract The curing of thermosets in heated molds has been theoretically analyzed by different authors in recent years [1–6]. Progelhof and Throne [1] considered nonisothermal curing of unfilled polyesters and epoxies, predicting a tempera- ture rise of several hundred °F in the mold center due to the highly exother- mic nature of the thermosetting polymerization.
