AbstractA telephone interview of public awareness of the speech pathology profession was conducted with 400 individuals from the Melbourne metropolitan area. The responses of these participants were analyzed and reported descriptively. The results indicated that the public is not aware of the role of speech/language pathologists, the services they provide, or the profession which represents them.
