Structural elucidation of sporogenic fatty acid metabolites from aspergillus nidulans

Abstract

Two novel hydroxylated unsaturated fatty acid derivatives which affect the sporulation cycle in the fungus A. nidulans have been isolated and characterized. The structures of the compounds, including absolute configuration, were determined from spectroscopic data and chemical degradation studies.
