Abstract

An extended formalism is presented to treat quantum integrable systems on a finite interval with independent boundary conditions on each end. It is shown that this formalism provides a natural description for the quantum integrability of the one-dimensional Hubbard open chain. \textcopyright{} 1996 The American Physical Society.
