Abstract

The decay of ${\mathrm{Ga}}^{67}$ has been investigated with scintillation spectrometers, single and in coincidence. No positrons have been found, in agreement with the total decay energy of 1.003 Mev measured by Trail and Johnson. Electron capture occurs to levels in ${\mathrm{Zn}}^{67}$ at 0.092, 0.182, 0.39, and 0.87 Mev. The 0.092-Mev level of ${\mathrm{Zn}}^{67}$ has a half-life of 9.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.0 \ensuremath{\mu}sec and the total conversion coefficient of the 0.092-Mev gamma ray is 0.54\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05. Rough measurement of the angular correlation coefficient between the 0.21-Mev and 0.18-Mev gamma rays (cascading from the 0.039-Mev level of ${\mathrm{Zn}}^{67}$) gives -0.22\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.04. Spin and parity assignments of the ${\mathrm{Zn}}^{67}$ levels are discussed. The present work is in essential agreement with that of Ketelle, Brosi, and Porter.
