Abstract

A class of initial boundary value problems in the linear theory of nonlocal, homogeneous, isotropic, coupled thermoelasticity is defined. The sufficient conditions under which the energy stored in the body at a time during a thermoelastic process is positive definite, are given. Finally, it is shown that the initial boundary value problems considered in this study possess unique solutions under the assumption that the total energy is positive definite.
