A Homologous Radioimmunoassay for Chicken Insulin

Abstract

A homologous radioimmunoassay (RIA) for chicken insulin is described. The RIA sensitivity and specificity are sufficient to measure circulating levels of insulin in chickens and turkeys of various metabolic states. The antisera are specific for chicken insulin, and do not cross-react with glucagon and only very poorly with porcine insulin.
