Abstract Equipment and experimental methods are presented for simultaneous measurement of capillary pressure and relative permeability, using a modification of the continuous injection method. Initial experiments on Berea core material using laboratory fluids showed that the reproducibility of the measured data is good. Capillary pressure and relative permeability curves measured by our new methods were consistent with previous results. Experiments with a dead reservoir crude demonstrated that wettability changes can be monitored as a function of time. This possibility will be used in future experiments to compare capillary pressure and relative permeability curves under reservoir conditions with those under less severe conditions.
