Retention Studies of Alkyl- and Halogen-Substituted Aromatics on Normal-Phase Silica and Alumina Columns. II. Halogenobenzenes and Halogenobiphenyls

Abstract

Abstract Previously reported data on the retention of halogenobenzenes and halogenobiphenyls on normal-phase silica and alumina columns were submitted to regression analysis. The derived log k′ (capacity factor) values were correlated with structural features; mutual analogies, for instance those between halogenobiphenyls and halogenobenzenes were unraveled. In many cases the applied methods have predictive merits.
