Systemic mastocytosis in a cat: remission after splenectomy

Abstract

ABSTRACT A case of systemic mastocytosis is recorded in a 12‐year old cat. After splenectomy, the mast cells disappeared from the body and normal health was regained for 7 months but the cat died during the eighth month after surgery.
