We present a single-layer circular-slot antenna, fed by a microstrip ending with a rectangular stub, which is suitable for wireless ultra-wideband (UWB) communications. The antenna is fully characterized in terms of impedance bandwidth, phase linearity, gain, and radiation pattern. The time-domain pulse response versus azimuth and elevation is also studied numerically. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
