Layered copper‐nickel nanocomposites electrochemically produced using a single solution are determined to posses hardness values considerably greater than that of nickel. They can be deposited on amorphous Ni‐P underlayers which in turn may be coated upon a wide variety of substrates. A simple working formula is given for relating x‐ray satellites to superlattice periodicity.
