The elastic constants of nickel have been determined by the pulsed ultrasonic method. Wave velocity measurements on four nickel single crystals of general orientation which were magnetically saturated were combined by the approximation method leading to values of the elastic constants C11=2.53, C12=1.52, C44=1.24, all in units of 1012 dyne cm−2.
