The essential oil of Nepeta crassifolia Boiss. & Buhse (Lamiaceae) was prepared by steam distillation and analysed by GC and GC-MS. Thirty-five substances out of the 52 detected were identified. The major constituents were found to be stereoisomers of nepetalactones (72.8%) and 1,8-cineole (9%). 4aα, 7β, 7aβ-Nepetalactone was isolated and identified by 1H- and 13C-NMR.
