• A new technique for studying the sensory response of the superficial peroneal nerve is described. The response is recorded from the intermediate dorsal cutaneous branch as it crosses anterior to the lateral malleolus; the nerve is stimulated 12 cm proximal to that point. The procedure does not require visualization of the nerve, is easily reproducible, and is simple to perform.
