Note on the Fluctuation Problem of Cascades

Abstract

Diffusion equations governing the fluctuations of nucleon cascades and also of electron-photon cascades are given. The electron cascade is treated at first in the usual approximation, but it is shown that the approximations are not essential for the treatment. The diffusion equations appear in the form of integro-differential equations which can be solved directly using numerical integration. It is hoped to present numerical solutions in a later publication.
