Abstract Calix[4]arene analog (2) having 2-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy]ethyl groups was prepared in 92% yield. Compound 2 showed the extraction of alkali metal ions as an ionophore and the catalytic activity for some SN2 reactions.
