10 Gbit/s four-channel WDM transmission experimentover 500 km withtechnique for suppressing four-wave mixing

Abstract

The authors have successfully demonstrated 10 Gbit/s four-channel densely spaced WDM transmission over 500 km of dispersion-shifted optical fibre with a technique for suppressing FWM crosstalk. This result shows the feasibility of future WDM transmission systems.
