SUMMARY Ovaries from rats about 7 days old were cut into halves, soaked in glycerol-saline, frozen to − 79° C, thawed and implanted subcutaneously in adult ovariectomized females. Part of the implanted tissue decayed, but the rest, including some of the follicles and ova, recovered rapidly and formed functional grafts.
