Abstract

in the treatment of lymphosarcoma with tris (P-chloroethyl) amine (HN3), much investigation of the use of this drug and of methylbis (P-chloroethyl) amine (HN2) in experimental* and clinical leukemias and the lympho-Some beneficial effects in both chronic myelocytic leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia have been reported by these investigators, but the drugs were found to have little or no value in the acute form of the disease. In a previous paper: the results in the treatment of leukemia with some of the newer nitrogen-mustard derivatives have been reported. These double nitrogen mustards appeared to be definitely useful agents against chronic myelocytic leukemia but again had little or no value against the acute form of the disease. The present communication is a summary of all cases of leukemia treated with the nitrogen mustards, HN2 and HN3, at Memorial Hospital since 1944; it includes those cases reported in a previous paperln on the use of these drugs.
