Xeroradiography offers some advantages over conventional radiography in the demonstration of nonradiopaque foreign bodies. High-kV anteroposterior xerotomography gives the clearest, most readily interpreted display of the foreign body and the tracheobronchial tree. Lateral and oblique plain xeroradiographs are likely to be most useful in young children in whom respiration cannot be suspended.
