Abstract —(1) The rate of incorporation in vitro of [ 14 C]glycine into adult rat peripheral nerve protein was studied and found to be linear up to a concentration of 4.5 μc/ml. It was also linear with time of incubation up to at least 6 hr. (2) Anaerobiosis, potassium cyanide, dinitrophenol and diphtheria toxin inhibited the incorporation of [ 14 C]glycine into protein, in a manner comparable to other tissues.
