Further evidence of the extensive effects of in- fection with the poliomyelitis virus upon many bodily systems is presented in this paper, the sec- PROCEDURE Plan and procedure of these studies were outlined in the first paper in the series (1). The present report is based on data of the same nine patients, who were studied for from five to nine months on the Metabolism Ward of the Russell Sage Institute of Pathology and New York Hospital. Study was begun early in the acute phase in four of the nine.
