High yield preparation of isolated human adult hepatocytes by enzymatic perfusion of the liver

Abstract

Abstract We have developed experimental conditions allowing the isolation of as many as 1–10 × 10 8 human adult hepatocytes by perfusing the left lobe of the liver. About 70–85% cells were viable with the trypan blue exclusion test; they attached to substrates and formed monolayers which survived for up to 8 days in culture.
