A fast method is presented for nonlocal optical model calculations, utilizing the Lanczos method for solving an integral equation derived from the Schr\"odinger equation. The method is tested against ``exact'' solutions for a few examples, demonstrating its usefulness. It is further pointed out that the method is well adapted for solving large dimension coupled-channels equations very efficiently.
