Synthesis and Reactivities of (Arylsulfonyl)amido Complexes of Ruthenium(II)

Abstract

Reactions of Ru(Et2dtc)(PPh3)2(CO)H (Et2dtc = N,N‘-diethyldithiocarbamate) with ArSO2N3 (Ar = p-CH3C6H4 (1), p-t-BuC6H4 (2), 2,4,6-i-Pr3C6H2 (3) gave Ru(Et2dtc)(PPh3)2(CO)(NHSO2Ar); the structure of 3 has been established by X-ray crystallogaphy. Treatment of 2 with I2 afforded the structurally characterized Ru(II) dimer (CO)(Et2dtc)(PPh3)Ru(μ-Et2dtc)(μ-I)Ru(CO)I(PPh3).
